Karan & Anjali's story
If you told us that one 'Hello' online would lead to a chaotic, beautiful life in Bangalore, we wouldn't have believed you. "Somewhere between the street food crawls and the long drives, we realised a simple truth: Everything is just better when we’re together. From strangers to best friends to 'I can't imagine life without you.'" Now, we’re merging two worlds. Gujarati heart meets Marwari soul. 🇮🇳 Think: Loud music, non-stop dancing, and the kind of food that basically deserves its own fan club." "This isn't just a ceremony. It’s a multi-day celebration of two lives becoming one, and the story isn't complete without you. Want to see how a Gujarati-Marwari wedding actually goes down?" Join us for a wedding you’ll never forget. Follow our journey at @momo_and_chutney for all the updates. See you at the Mandap?
Day 1Tuesday, February 3, 2026Kolkata
Starting time (approximately): 10:00 AM
Venue and host contact details will be disclosed upon booking.
Mehendi
Mehendi is one of the most laid-back and joyful parts of the wedding celebrations. It’s a daytime gathering where friends and family come together for music, conversations, and traditional henna art. Guests can watch intricate mehendi designs being applied, enjoy light performances and music, and simply spend time getting to know one another. It’s an easy, informal introduction to Indian wedding culture—colourful, friendly, and unhurried.
Sangeet
The sangeet is the most energetic celebration of the wedding. It’s an evening dedicated to music and dance, where family and friends perform, cheer each other on, and celebrate the couple through stories and movement. You don’t need to dance to enjoy it—but chances are, the energy in the room will pull you in. It’s lively, personal, and full of laughter, offering a glimpse into how Indian weddings celebrate joy and togetherness beyond the formal rituals.
Day 2Wednesday, February 4, 2026Kolkata
Starting time (approximately): 8:00 AM
Venue and host contact details will be disclosed upon booking.
Haldi
Haldi is a lively daytime celebration filled with laughter and colour. Family members apply turmeric paste to the couple as a symbol of blessings, good health, and joy. It’s informal, playful, and often full of spontaneous moments and smiles. For guests, it’s one of the most enjoyable ceremonies to watch and be part of—bright colours, cheerful music, and a chance to see Indian traditions in a relaxed, close setting. It’s joyful, unstructured, and a great way to feel included in the celebrations.
Wedding and Reception
The wedding ceremony is the most meaningful part of our celebrations. At its centre are the pheras—walking together around a sacred fire. Each round represents a promise we make to one another: to support each other, grow together, and walk through life as partners. The mantras chanted during the ceremony are blessings and intentions, marking the beginning of our married life. Even if the rituals are unfamiliar, the emotions are universal. For us, this ceremony brings together our families, cultures, and values in a deeply personal and symbolic way. The reception that follows is a time for guests to meet the newly married couple, offer their congratulations and blessings, take photographs, and may choose to give a gift as a gesture of goodwill. It’s a warm, social gathering centred around connection, conversation, and celebrating together.
