About the hosts
Rajat & Anamika's story
We are Anamika and Rajat, brought together through an arranged marriage that slowly grew into respect, comfort, and a beautiful bond. Anamika is a tuition teacher who loves guiding children, while Rajat runs his own clothing showroom with dedication and hard work.
We come from simple, middle-class families, and this wedding is a dream we are creating with our love, support, and lifelong savings. It will be a traditional Marwari wedding filled with rituals, joy, and blessings from our loved ones.
Your presence will make our day even more special.
“A wedding becomes memorable not by its size, but by the blessings and love shared.”
With warm hearts,
Anamika & Rajat

Haldi
The Haldi ceremony in a Marwari wedding is a joyful and sacred ritual where family members apply a paste of turmeric, sandalwood, and rose water to the bride and groom. It is believed to purify the body, bring a natural glow, and protect the couple from negativity before the wedding.
The ceremony is filled with laughter, folk songs, and playful moments as relatives gently apply haldi on the face, hands, and feet. Married women bless the couple for prosperity, long life, and a happy marriage. The bright yellow color symbolizes purity, good luck, and the start of new beginnings.
In Marwari culture, Haldi is not just a ritual—it is a warm celebration of love, blessings, and togetherness.
Mehndi
The Mehndi function in a Marwadi wedding is a colorful and joyful celebration where intricate henna designs are applied to the bride’s hands and feet. The patterns often include traditional motifs, her groom’s initials, and symbols of love and prosperity.
Women and girls from both families join in, applying mehndi, singing folk songs, and dancing to traditional Marwadi music. The atmosphere is filled with laughter, bright outfits, and the fragrance of henna. Married women bless the bride for happiness and good fortune, as mehndi is believed to bring positivity, beauty, and auspiciousness to the wedding.
For Marwadis, the Mehndi ceremony is not just about decorating hands—it is a heartfelt gathering that marks the beginning of the wedding festivities with joy, color, and togetherness.

Bandoli
In a Marwari wedding, Bandoli from the bride’s side is one of the most joyful and exciting traditions. In this ceremony, the bride sits on a beautifully decorated horse, and her family proudly takes her around the village. The atmosphere becomes festive as everyone gathers — relatives, neighbours, and villagers — to celebrate this special moment.
With DJ music, Nasik dhol, drums, and traditional beats, the entire procession turns into a lively parade filled with dancing, laughter, and blessings. Bandoli represents the love and pride of the bride’s family as they honour her and celebrate her new journey. It is a heartfelt and unforgettable moment that brings the whole community together in joy.

Barat Welcome and Wedding
In our Marwadi wedding, welcoming the Baraat is one of the most beautiful moments for us. As the groom’s family arrives with music and celebration, we welcome them with aarti, tilak, and smiles. It feels like the moment when two families truly come together with love and respect.
Under the decorated mandap, our wedding rituals take place with full tradition. From Kanyadaan to Granthi Bandhan to the sacred pheras, every step feels meaningful and emotional. As we take the seven pheras, we promise to stand by each other with trust, love, and respect for life. With blessings from our elders, our two families become one, marking the beginning of our new journey.
