The Haldi ceremony is a joyful and important pre-wedding ritual in Indian weddings, including Maharashtrian weddings. It usually takes place one day before the wedding. During this event, close family and friends gather to apply a paste made from haldi (turmeric), often mixed with sandalwood, rose water, or milk, on the bride’s and groom’s face, hands, and body. This ritual is believed to cleanse and purify the couple, giving them a natural glow and protecting them from negative energies before they start their new life together.
The atmosphere is festive with music, singing, and dancing, making it a fun gathering that strengthens family bonds. After the application of the turmeric paste, both the bride and groom take a ceremonial bath to wash it off. The Haldi ceremony symbolizes blessings, prosperity, and the joyful transition from single life to married life.
In summary, it is a beautiful mix of spirituality, skincare tradition, and celebration.

Vaidik Wedding
A Marathi authentic Vaidik wedding is a deeply traditional ceremony packed with symbolic rituals rooted in Hindu Traditions celebrated in Maharashtra, India. On the wedding day, the groom & Bride enters the mandap & following Sacred vows (Mangalashtakas) are chanted, then the curtain is removed for the couple to exchange garlands (jai mala) amid blessings with rice grains (akshata).
Key rituals include Kanyadaan, where the bride’s father gives her away with blessings, and Lajahoma, where the couple offers grains to the sacred fire while chanting mantras. The groom ties the Mangalsutra (sacred necklace) around the bride’s neck and applies vermilion on her forehead, symbolising marital commitment. The couple then performs the Saptapadi, taking seven steps around the fire, each step signifying a vow for a harmonious life together. The rituals are infused with spirituality, family bonding, and cultural values, making it a meaningful and joyous transition into married life
