ashok & geeta's story
in this wedding you fill A Rajasthani hindu Chaudhary wedding is a grand celebration of heritage and community. It begins with Bhaat, where maternal uncles bring gifts, followed by Pithi (haldi) and Ratijka, a night of folk songs. The groom, wearing a colorful Safaa and carrying a sword, leads the Baraat to the venue. At the entrance, the Toran Marana ritual signifies his entry as a protector. The Pheras are unique, often consisting of four rounds around the sacred fire. Culturally, the wedding is defined by the Dhol, Ghoomar dance, and a feast of Dal Baati Churma. The attire is iconic: women wear vibrant Ghagras and men sport traditional turbans. These weddings are not just family events but village-wide festivals, emphasizing social bonds and agrarian roots. The atmosphere is a mix of rustic charm, warrior-like pride, and deep-seated Rajasthani traditions.please welcome and join our cultural program

A unique custom here is that after this, they are often not allowed to leave their respective houses until the wedding day. Banori: The bride and groom are invited to the homes of close relatives for a meal. They are often taken there in a small procession with traditional songs. 2. The Evening Festivities Ratijka: This is a night-long celebration before the wedding day. Women of the family stay awake, singing folk songs (Mangal Geet) and performing traditional dances to invoke the blessings of deities and ancestors. Mehndi: While the bride gets intricate henna designs, in the Chaudhary community, even the groom often applies a small amount of mehndi as a symbol of auspiciousness.

3. The Wedding Day (Main Event) Nikasi & Baraat: The groom, dressed in a traditional sherwani and a safaa (Rajasthani turban), mounts a decorated horse. He often carries a sword, a nod to the community’s historical warrior roots. Toran Marana: Upon reaching the bride's house, the groom hits a wooden "Toran" (hanging decoration) at the entrance with a sword or a stick, symbolizing his readiness to take on the responsibilities of the household. Aarti & Thapa: The bride's mother welcomes the groom with an aarti and sometimes playfully pulls his nose (a lighthearted tradition to remind him of his new family's dignity). Pheras: In Rajasthani Chaudhary tradition, the couple usually takes four pheras (rounds) around the holy fire in the mandap. In many sub-communities, the bride leads the first three rounds, and the groom leads the final one.
