Marriage
The morning of a traditional wedding begins with sacred rituals that invoke blessings for the bride and groom. The air fills with the sounds of ancient hymns, conch shells, and temple bells as elders perform prayers for prosperity. The groom arrives in a grand procession, accompanied by traditional musicians playing instruments like the nadaswaram, tabla, or dhol, creating a festive aura. Upon arrival, the bride’s family welcomes him with a ceremonial aarti, sprinkling of rose water, and a garland exchange. He is then guided to the mandap, where auspicious foods like sweets, coconuts, and betel leaves symbolize abundance. The bride, adorned in resplendent attire, is then welcomed into the groom’s family with heartfelt blessings and symbolic gestures like gifting silk sarees or jewelry. The elders whisper ancestral wisdom into the couple’s ears, marking the union of two families. The ceremony radiates joy, tradition, and the harmonious blend of love and cultural heritage.
