Yoga Venkatesh & Jhansi's story
Our journey didn't start with a single moment, but with a decade of shared dreams. We first met in 2014, two young souls navigating the early steps of our careers. As we both pursued our Chartered Accountancy (CA) designations, we were each other’s greatest support system. While I am from Odisha, he hails from Andhra Pradesh, our shared values bridged every gap. After I completed my MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, I knew it was time to take the ultimate leap of faith. With a heart full of hope, I gathered the courage to share with my orthodox parents. Love, as it often does, found a way. We celebrated our engagement in October 2025. At 28 and 29, we feel like we are just getting started. We are ready to spend the rest of our lives chasing dreams together. We invite you to be a part of our new beginning. Come, celebrate the union of two cultures and one shared heart. Your presence would mean the world to us as we step into this new chapter. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Haldi
At its heart, the Haldi is a purification ritual. Family and friends take turns applying a bright yellow paste made of turmeric (haldi), sandalwood, and rose water onto the bride and groom’s face, neck, arms, and legs. Turmeric stains are permanent. Wear something comfortable and breathable that you wouldn't mind getting a little "golden" smudge on. If you don’t have yellow, wear with bright, warm colors like orange or cream.

Reception, Rituals and Wedding
Reception - This is where you experience the best of India. Expect a massive buffet with dozens of dishes. Rituals - Praying to Lord Ganesha (the remover of obstacles) or honoring ancestors. It is a quiet, spiritual time to seek a smooth journey for the couple. Wedding - A Hindu wedding ceremony can last 2 to 3 hours. Ours is expected to end at 2 AM. It takes place under a Mandap (a four-pillared canopy representing a new home). Following are the usual steps in a Hindu wedding Kanyadaan: This is the emotional moment where the bride’s father places her hand in the groom’s, symbolizing he is entrusting her to him. Tying the Knot: The groom will tie a Mangalsutra (sacred necklace) around the bride's neck and apply Sindoor (red powder) to her hair parting. Saptapadi (The Seven Steps): This is the legal and spiritual "heart" of the wedding. The couple walks seven steps (or circles) around a sacred fire.
