Saant–Samuth Ceremony (Bride’s Side) The Saant–Samuth ceremony is a traditional Himachali pre-wedding ritual held at the bride’s home. In this ceremony, the elders of the family perform blessings for the bride. They prepare a small sacred setup, offer prayers for her new journey, and give their blessings for happiness, prosperity, and a peaceful married life. It is a warm and emotional moment where the family comes together to celebrate the bride before she leaves for her new home.

Baarat Ceremony The Baarat is the groom’s wedding procession. The groom arrives at the bride’s home or wedding venue with his family and friends, all dancing, singing, and celebrating with full joy. Traditional music, dhol, and sometimes DJ beats make the moment lively and festive. The groom usually arrives on a decorated car or horse, and everyone welcomes him with great excitement. It is one of the most energetic and happiest parts of the wedding celebrations.

Wedding Rituals (Night Ceremony) At night, the main wedding rituals will take place. The bride and groom will sit around the sacred fire, and the priest will guide them through the traditional pheras. Taking seven vows around the holy fire, they promise love, respect, loyalty, and a lifelong partnership. After the pheras, the groom will apply sindoor (vermillion) in the bride’s hair parting — a symbol of their sacred bond. He will then tie the mangalsutra around her neck, marking the beginning of their married life together.
