About the hosts
Shashi & Pratibha's story
Our story began in Rishikesh, India’s spiritual heart, at the Neeraj Epilepsy Centre, where they work as counsellors. Serving others brought them together, and friendship gently grew into love grounded in compassion, patience, and shared purpose. Their bond reflects healing, mindfulness, and mutual respect. We warmly invite you to celebrate their union on 14 January 2026. Join us for an authentic Indian wedding filled with sacred rituals, colours, music, and joy. Come as guests, leave as family. As we say in India, 'Atithi Devo Bhava'—the guest is divine. We welcome travellers seeking connection, culture, warmth, and shared celebrations together.

Wedding
The main wedding night is the heart of an Indian wedding — a joyful blend of spirituality, tradition, music, and celebration. Guests are welcomed warmly into a beautifully decorated space filled with lights, flowers, and vibrant colors. The ceremony takes place around a sacred fire (Agni), led by a priest, where the couple takes symbolic vows through ancient rituals representing love, commitment, balance, and togetherness. Live traditional music and a festive atmosphere surround the ceremony. Guests are free to watch, participate, dance, take photos, and experience the celebration at their own pace. Wearing Indian attire is welcome but not required. The evening concludes with a traditional Indian dinner, shared as a community, celebrating abundance and gratitude. Above all, the night is about connection — two souls, two families, and people from different cultures coming together in warmth, joy, and shared celebration.
