As i am from the border of kerala and tamilnadu(2states), the culture of of our marriage blends with 2 states.At the bride’s house or wedding venue, the groom is welcomed with an Arathi (a plate of lighted lamps, turmeric water, and rice) by the bride’s family. This Tamil-style welcome also involves a Nadhaswaram and Thavil (traditional South Indian instruments), which set the festive tone. The wedding typically happens in a large hall or temple. The Mandapam (wedding altar) is decorated with banana leaves, fresh flowers, and garlands. A brass Vilakku (lamp) is lit to signify the presence of divine blessings. The bride, dressed in a traditional silk saree, enters the venue with her close relatives. Her jewelry includes traditional Tamil Nadu ornaments like Thali Kodi and Kerala-style gold pieces like Palakka Mala. The bride and groom exchange garlands as a sign of acceptance.
