VISHAL & NAVITA's story
This is the result of 7 years long relationship and struggle faced by both the sides to agree their respective parents for the marriage of two states. Times goes by years & years and today we are here planning our own wedding, managing all the arrangements. This was the dream we both start with.
Day 1Thursday, April 9, 2026Peeragarhi
Starting time (approximately): 7:00 PM
Venue and host contact details will be disclosed upon booking.
Lagan Sagai / Ring Ceremony
Sagai (Engagement Ceremony)
This is the engagement part. The couple usually exchanges rings. Families exchange gifts, sweets, and enough dry fruits to stock a winter apocalypse.
Common elements:
Ring exchange
Tilak ceremony (groom is welcomed and blessed)
Exchange of gifts between families
Lots of photos where everyone pretends they aren’t exhausted already
It’s basically the moment the relationship goes from “private romance” to “national news across extended family WhatsApp groups.”
Lagan (Formalizing the Wedding Date)
Fixing the muhurat (auspicious wedding time). Sometimes reading or presenting the Lagan Patrika (formal document with wedding details). Performing small pujas at home, Exchange of symbolic gifts from bride’s family to groom’s side. It’s less about glam and more about ritual legitimacy. Elders get very serious here.
Day 2Sunday, April 12, 2026Janakpuri
Starting time (approximately): 9:00 AM
Venue and host contact details will be disclosed upon booking.
Sehrabandi & Ghudchadi
Sehrabandi and Ghudchadi are crucial pre-wedding rituals in North Indian/Punjabi tradition where the groom prepares for the Baraat. Sehrabandi involves tying a sehra (floral veil) on the groom's head by elders (Jija/Husband of Groom's sister), signifying blessings and protection. Following this, Ghudchadi involves the groom mounting a decorated horse for the procession.
Reception of Barat
It is, when Groom along with the barat reaches to the doorstep or bridal side with great pomp and shows and all the sisters of bride welcome the Groom, with some ceremonies of fun.
Nirankari Laawe
Nirankari laawe" (Nirankari Lava/Lavan) refers to the Nirankari wedding ceremony, specifically the four hymns (Lavan) that are recited during the marriage of followers of the Sant Nirankari Mission.
Definition: These are the solemnization rounds or vows taken by the couple to cement their union in the presence of the Satguru (True Master) and the Formless God (Nirankar).
Focus: Unlike traditional rituals that might focus on external customs, Nirankari Lavan focuses on spiritual companionship, mutual respect, and a joint commitment to lead a life dedicated to the service of the Almighty and humanity.
Meaning: The word "Nirankari" means "without form" (referring to God), and "Lava/Lavan" refers to the circumambulation or vows around the holy Guru
