About the hosts
Lokender & Ruby's story
Two unique personalities from two different states of India — Haryana (the bride) and Punjab (the groom). Our story began 4.5 years ago in 2021, when we started out as colleagues, became best friends, and eventually decided to spend the rest of our lives together.
Bringing together two families with distinct backgrounds, traditions, and castes wasn’t easy. It took nearly 3.5 years to connect and convince both sides.
Our wedding celebrations will include several traditional ceremonies — Haldi and Mehndi before the big day, and more rituals on the wedding day itself. The wedding will take place on 12th November 2025 in Taraori, near Karnal, Haryana.
We’ll be joyfully celebrating with around 400 guests on the wedding day and about 50–100 guests during the pre-wedding events.

Haldi
The Haldi ceremony is one of the most joyful and colorful pre-wedding rituals in a traditional Indian wedding. It holds deep cultural and emotional significance and is celebrated with laughter, music, and blessings.
The Haldi ceremony (also called Pithi or Tel Baan) is performed to bless the bride and groom before their wedding. A paste made primarily of turmeric (haldi), sandalwood, and rosewater or milk is applied to their skin.
Turmeric is considered auspicious in Indian culture—it purifies, protects from evil eyes, and brings a natural glow to the skin before the wedding day.

Sangeet
Sangeet is a joyful pre-wedding celebration in traditional Indian weddings, filled with music, dance, and laughter. It brings together both families to celebrate the upcoming union through lively performances, songs, and choreographed dances. Traditionally held a day or two before the wedding, it symbolizes happiness, togetherness, and cultural expression. The bride and groom’s families often perform skits or dances showcasing their journey. Vibrant décor, energetic Bollywood beats, and festive food make the Sangeet night a memorable start to the wedding festivities.

Shubh Vivaah
The wedding day in a traditional Indian marriage is a grand and sacred celebration filled with customs, colors, and emotions. The day begins with the Groom’s Sehra Bandi, where his family ties a decorative turban and sehra (veil) on him before the Baraat—a joyous procession with music and dance as he arrives at the venue. The Bride’s family welcomes the Groom with an Aarti and Milni ceremony. The couple then exchanges garlands in the Jaimala, symbolizing acceptance. The main ritual, the Saat Phere (Seven Vows) around the sacred fire, binds them for life under the guidance of a priest. This is followed by Sindoor Daan and Mangalsutra tying, marking the bride as married. Post rituals include Kanyadaan, where the bride’s parents give her away, and finally, the emotional Vidaai, where the bride departs with the groom, signifying the start of their new journey together.
