Amar & Manashi's story
We are delighted to share our story and invite you to celebrate with us. Our journey began in 2020 when we first met. What started as a simple introduction gradually grew into a meaningful relationship. Over the past five years, we have supported each other, shared dreams, and built a strong bond based on trust, respect, and understanding. Now, we are excited to begin a new chapter together. Amarjyoti Barman is a Mechanical Junior Engineer and businessman who enjoys learning and building new ideas. Manashi Das is an interior designer passionate about creativity and transforming spaces into beautiful environments. Our wedding will take place on 13 May 2026 at Singimari, near Guwahati Sualkuchi Road, SH41, Kamrup, Assam, India. Jurun
Here’s the thing, Jurun is basically the groom’s family formally welcoming the bride into their family. What happens in Jurun: Groom’s family visits the bride’s home They bring gifts on a traditional xorai (brass tray) Items usually include rice, turmeric, betel nut, sweets, fruits, fish, clothes, jewelry The bride is blessed by elders Traditional Mekhela Chador is often gifted It symbolizes acceptance, respect, and good wishes What this really means is: It’s not just gift-giving. It’s the moment both families emotionally connect before the wedding. It’s calm, cultural, and very meaningful.

Main wedding
An Assamese wedding day is filled with traditional rituals and joyful celebrations. The day begins around 9:00 AM with traditional drums, followed by the priest performing worship and blessings with the groom. Around 1:00 PM, the “Pani Tola” ritual takes place, where women go to the river to collect sacred water while singing and playing drums. At 2:00 PM, lunch is served, followed by music, dance, and small cultural celebrations with family and guests. In the evening, around 8:00 PM, the groom’s procession travels to the bride’s home. There, the main wedding rituals are performed, and after the ceremonies, the bride leaves with the groom to his home, marking the beginning of their new journey together. Guests are welcome to experience these traditions, music, and warm Assamese hospitality throughout the day.
