Ours is a simple and beautiful Gujarati arranged marriage, where two families brought us together and helped us find a perfect companion in each other. Haldi
In Gujarat, the Haldi ceremony is known as Pithi, a joyful and sacred pre-wedding ritual. A paste of haldi, chandan, rose water, and milk is prepared by the women of the family, often while singing lagna geet. The bride or groom sits on a traditional pidi, and elders apply the first touch of haldi on the face, hands, and feet, symbolizing purity, protection, and blessings. The yellow color represents happiness and new beginnings. After the ceremony, relatives playfully apply haldi on each other, creating laughter and celebration. Pithi is believed to bring good luck and enhance the natural glow before the wedding, filling the occasion with love, tradition, and togetherness.
Ras Garba
Gujarati weddings are incomplete without the vibrant tradition of Raas Garba. After rituals, family and friends gather to dance at tge decorated space, celebrating the couple’s new beginning with joy and rhythm. Traditional taali, claps, circular steps, dandiya, and folk music create an energetic atmosphere. The bride, groom, and guests join in, symbolizing unity, happiness, and the blessings of Goddess Amba. Raas Garba brings everyone together with love, color, and festive spirit, making the wedding truly lively and memorable.
