Akash & Nancy's story
Akash and I met on a dating app, Bumble about two years ago. He is a sweet introverted nerdy boy studied at the most prestigious universities of India, working at a startup as a product manager and I, an extroverted, talkative, people’s person, event manager. While he was smitten immediately it took some time for me to see how wonderful this man truly is. It was not a smooth ride for us. 7 months in we broke up once, thinking we are too different. But fate brought us back together. Three months post breakup, I had a major accident and a near death experience and the only person I could think of calling was him. How he took complete care of me for three weeks when I was unable to walk and all alone, made me fall in love with him all over again. We decided to spend our entire lives together. We have learnt to cherish our differences celebrate the ways we complete each other. With hearts full of joy, Akash and I invite you to join us as we begin our forever together.
Day 1Sunday, November 2, 2025Bangalore
Starting time (approximately): 7:00 PM
Venue and host contact details will be disclosed upon booking.
Baaraat, Varmala and Pheras
Baraat: This is the groom’s grand wedding procession. He arrives at the venue on a decorated horse (or sometimes in a fancy car), surrounded by family and friends dancing to loud, joyful music. It’s like a mini street parade celebrating his arrival to marry the bride. Varmala: When the groom reaches, the couple meets on a stage and exchanges flower garlands. It’s a playful, romantic moment — sometimes with friends lifting them up to make it fun. It symbolizes their acceptance of each other. Pheras: This is the main wedding ritual. The couple walks around a sacred fire seven times, each round (phera) representing a promise they make to each other — of love, trust, respect, and partnership. Once the pheras are done, they’re officially married.
