About the hosts
Siddharth & Radhalakshmi's story
Siddharth Jain, a witty Chartered Accountant raised in Mumbai with roots in Jodhpur, always had numbers in his mind. His humor made him a favourite in ITC’s Finance team.
Radhalakshmi, born in Tamil Nadu but raised in Hyderabad, was equally skilled and passionate, known for her precision and warmth.
They met during a brainstorming session over Vietnamese iced coffee and a stubborn spreadsheet. What began as a professional banter soon sparked an unbreakable connection. Despite different backgrounds, they bonded over virtual coffee dates, their romance blossoming between office banters and late night calls where spreadsheets were soon replaced by laughter and dreams.
As they planned their “2 States Wedding”, their love story because famous amongst their colleagues and friends and people joked about how they united north, south, east and west. From deadlines to wedding bells, their journey proved that opposites not only attract - they also create perfect harmony - a merger with synergy.

Haldi
The Haldi ceremony in a Marwadi wedding, known as Pitthi Dastoor, is a vibrant pre-wedding ritual where turmeric paste mixed with oil, sandalwood, and rose water is applied to the bride and groom. This paste gives the couple a radiant glow and is believed to purify and protect them from evil. Family members, especially married women, playfully apply the paste amid joyous singing and dancing. The venue is decorated with bright marigold garlands and traditional decor to celebrate this moment. The ritual symbolizes blessings for a prosperous married life and is often followed by preparing sweet dishes like ghughra, adding a festive taste to the ceremony. Haldi is a joyful, heartfelt tradition blending beauty, blessings, and fun in Marwadi weddings.
Sangeet
The Sangeet is a lively and joyous pre-wedding celebration that brings together the bride and groom’s families in a night full of music, dance, and merriment. Traditionally rooted in North India, it has evolved into a festive party where relatives and friends perform choreographed dance routines and sing songs to celebrate the couple’s upcoming union. The event fosters bonding and camaraderie among families, breaking the ice before the wedding day. Bright, colorful attire and Bollywood music set the mood, with playful dance-offs and musical banter between the bride’s and groom’s sides adding excitement. The Sangeet is not only a fun-filled evening but also a meaningful tradition symbolizing happiness, unity, and the joyful beginning of the marriage journey.

Baarat and Wedding Reception
The Baraat is a grand groom’s wedding procession filled with music, dance, and celebration. Traditionally, the groom rides a decorated white horse or a vintage car, dressed in regal attire with a turban and sehra (veil). Accompanied by family and friends known as baraatis, the procession moves to the bride's venue with energetic beats of the dhol and festive music setting the mood. Upon arrival, the bride’s family welcomes the Baraat with a warm Milni ceremony where relatives from both sides exchange garlands, symbolizing unity. The bride’s mother performs aarti and applies tilak on the groom’s forehead to bless him. Then follows the Varmala or Jaimala, where bride and groom exchange floral garlands, marking their acceptance of each other. The wedding reception is a joyous event with music, dancing, lavish feasts, speeches, and greetings, celebrating the newlyweds’ union and the blending of two families in style and festivity.
