Mehandi
The Mehndi ceremony is one of the most joyful and colourful pre-wedding rituals in India. The bride’s hands and feet are decorated with beautiful henna designs, often symbolizing love, happiness, and good luck for her new life. Family and friends apply small mehndi dots or designs, while music, dhol, dance, and laughter fill the atmosphere. Bright outfits, floral jewellery, sweets, and playful teasing make the day memorable. Songs are sung, stories are shared, and everyone celebrates the bride’s happiness. It’s a festive gathering where love, tradition, and togetherness come alive through colour, music, and smiling faces.
Haldi and wedding
The Haldi ceremony is a sacred and joyful ritual in Indian weddings. A paste of turmeric, sandalwood, rose water, and oil is applied to the bride and groom’s face, hands, and feet by family and friends. Turmeric is believed to purify the body, protect from evil, and bring a natural bridal glow. The atmosphere is filled with laughter, yellow décor, flowers, and playful moments as relatives lovingly smear haldi and blessings. Traditional songs, dhol, teasing, and sweets add fun to the ceremony. It is a celebration of love, purity, and happiness before the wedding day.During the wedding, the bride and groom sit before the sacred fire, take pheras (seven vows) around it, and promise lifelong love and respect. The groom applies sindoor and ties the mangalsutra, marking their union. Families bless the couple as they begin their new journey together.
Reception
The wedding reception is a grand celebration where family and friends gather to congratulate the newlyweds. The couple greets guests, cuts cake, and captures memories in photos. Music, dance, delicious food, and laughter fill the evening. It marks the start of their new life with joy and blessings.
