Over 8 years, we’ve laughed, cried, and supported each other, becoming best friends and life partners. ❤️ Now, in our mid-twenties, we’re working professionals, evolving and chasing dreams together. Nhanora

Often associated with rituals that aim to bring blessings to the bride and groom as they begin their new life together, Nhanora brings a sense of spiritual and cultural continuity.
Mehendi
Mehendi is an important and cherished tradition in Maharashtra, particularly during weddings.The ceremony is usually held a day or two before the wedding. On this occasion, the bride, along with her female relatives and friends, gathers to apply henna to their hands and feet. In Maharashtra, the bride's Mehendi design is typically elaborate, with intricate motifs of flowers, peacocks, and symbolic patterns. The bride’s hands are adorned with the darkest color of henna, which is believed to signify a strong bond between the couple. As per tradition, the groom's name is hidden within the designs, and it’s believed that he must find it before the wedding for good luck. The celebration is marked by joyful music, traditional folk songs like "Laavni," and a festive atmosphere. It’s a time of bonding, fun, and celebration, where family members play games, sing, and dance, making it one of the most enjoyable pre-wedding rituals.
Sangeet
The Sangeet tradition in Maharashtra is a vibrant and joyous pre-wedding celebration, typically held a day or two before the wedding. Rooted in the Marathi culture, it brings together families and friends to celebrate the upcoming nuptials with music, dance, and festivities. Traditionally, it’s an all-female event, where the bride’s side of the family gathers to sing traditional Marathi folk songs, including Lavani and Bhojpuri songs, and perform dances. Over time, the event has evolved to include mixed-gender participation, with families coming together to perform choreographed dance numbers, often to Bollywood hits. The Sangeet is a celebration of love, bonding, and the merging of two families, marking the beginning of wedding festivities with music and fun. The event ends with everyone coming together to celebrate the union.

Haldi

Wedding
A Maharashtrian wedding is a vibrant and culturally rich celebration, typically marked by various traditions and rituals. The wedding day starts with the Gaurihar Puja, where the bride prays for marital happiness. The groom’s family performs a ritual known as Groom's arrival (Baraat), which includes a lively procession. The bride and groom exchange varmala (garlands) as a symbol of acceptance. The Kanyadan ritual follows, where the bride’s parents give her away to the groom. The couple then takes the Saat Phere around the sacred fire, each round representing vows of love, commitment, and support. The bride's Mangalsutra is tied around her neck by the groom, signifying their union. Sindoor (vermilion) is applied to the bride’s forehead, signifying her new status as a married woman. Finally, the couple takes part in the Sankalpa and Ashirwad, receiving blessings from elders. The wedding is a blend of rituals, joy, and deep cultural significance, culminating in a new life together.
