About the hosts
Nawaz & Gulafshan's story
Our story began in the most beautiful and unexpected way. From our very first conversation, there was a spark—something genuine that kept drawing us closer. Over time, that spark grew into a bond built on trust, understanding, and deep respect. Anjum’s calm presence, her kindness, and the way she sees the world captured my heart in a way I never imagined possible. We balance each other perfectly—where I bring energy and drive, she brings warmth and grace. Together, we’ve grown, supported one another, and built a love that feels both peaceful and powerful. As we begin this new chapter in our lives, we want to share our joy with you—our friends, our family, our people. Your presence at our wedding would mean the world to us. Come celebrate with us, laugh with us, and bless us as we step into forever. “True love is when both people are equally excited to build a future together.” We can’t wait to see you there!

Nikah ceremoney
Nikah begins with the arrival of family and guests, followed by a short sermon (khutbah) delivered by an imam or a religious scholar. The bride and groom, often seated separately, formally declare their acceptance of each other in the presence of witnesses by saying “Qubool hai” (I accept) three times. The groom then offers the mahr, a symbolic gift to the bride, which is agreed upon beforehand. After this, the marriage contract is signed by the bride, groom, and witnesses. The ceremony ends with prayers and blessings for the couple’s happiness and success in their new life together. Often, this is followed by joyful celebrations, heartfelt congratulations, and a meal shared with family and friends.
Reception
The event is usually held a day or two after the Nikah and is filled with joy, laughter, and togetherness. Family, friends, and guests gather to bless the newlyweds and enjoy a festive meal. The bride and groom are often dressed elegantly, seated together, and greeted warmly by their loved ones. Speeches, prayers, and sometimes cultural traditions take place, making it a memorable and meaningful gathering that celebrates love, unity, and the beginning of a new journey.
