Key Pre-Wedding Ceremonies

Sangeet Baraat: The groom’s lively, musical procession to the venue, often on a decorated horse or in a car, accompanied by dancing friends and family.
Jaimala: The couple exchanges garlands, representing mutual acceptance.
Kanyadaan: The bride’s father gives her hand to the groom, signifying the transfer of responsibility.
Saptapadi (Seven Steps/Vows): The couple circles the holy fire (Agni) seven times, taking vows of love, fidelity, and companionship.
Mangalsutra & Sindoor: The groom ties a sacred necklace (mangalsutra) and applies vermilion (sindoor) in the bride's hair parting, marking her as married.
