Mandap ceremony
A Gujarati wedding mandap ceremony is a beautiful blend of tradition, devotion, and celebration. The mandap is decorated with flowers, fabrics, and mango leaves, symbolizing protection and purity. The rituals begin with Ganesh Sthapan, seeking divine blessings for a smooth union. The groom is welcomed with respect, and the bride enters under the antarpaat, which is lifted at the sacred moment when they first see each other as life partners. The exchange of garlands marks acceptance, followed by Kanyadaan, where the bride’s parents entrust her hand to the groom. During Hasta Milap, their scarves are tied, symbolizing unity. The sacred fire is lit for Mangal Pheras, representing duty, prosperity, love, and spiritual growth. With Saptapadi, seven vows are taken, and the ceremony concludes with blessings, prayers, and joy, uniting two families forever.
