Alen & Nancy's story
Sometimes life writes the most beautiful stories when we least expect it. Ours began simply through an arranged marriage, but what started as a formal introduction soon felt wonderfully familiar, as if our paths were always meant to cross.
We met in church, and in that quiet moment, something just clicked — no grand drama, just a calm certainty that this was right. They say people meet at the right time, not before or after, and our story is proof.
I’m Alen, working in IT and based in Malaysia for the past 4 years, originally from India. This country has given me many opportunities, but the greatest was leading me to Nancy.
Nancy, my beautiful fiancée, is a passionate English teacher, born and raised in Malaysia. What began as an arranged meeting grew into conversations, laughter, prayers, and deep understanding.
As we step into this new chapter, we would be truly blessed to have your love and presence at our wedding.
With love,
Alen & Nancy

Marriage
This is a Syrian Mar Thoma Church Chriatian wedding lasting 45-60 mins ceremony. This contains 3 main segments. A Mar Thoma marriage is a traditional Christian wedding rooted in the reformed Syrian Christian heritage of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church. The ceremony is usually held in a church and led by a priest, beginning with prayers, Bible readings, and a short message. The most significant moment is the tying of the Minnu (a small gold pendant shaped like a cross) around the bride’s neck by the groom, using threads taken from the bride’s wedding saree (manthrakodi). Another key ritual is the placing of the manthrakodi over the bride’s head, symbolizing the groom’s promise of protection and care. The main symbol of a Mar Thoma marriage is the Minnu, representing the sacred, Christ-centered bond of the couple.
