Muhurtham
1. Mangala Snanam (మంగళ స్నానం)
Early morning holy bath taken by the bride and groom at their homes to purify body and soul before the rituals begin.
2. Gauri Puja (గౌరీ పూజ)
The bride prays to Goddess Gauri (Parvati) for a happy and blessed married life.
3. Ganesh Puja (గణేశ పూజ)
The groom performs puja to Lord Ganesha to remove obstacles before starting the ceremony.
4. Kashi Yatra (కాశీ యాత్ర)
A fun ritual where the groom pretends to renounce worldly life for spiritual study until the bride’s father convinces him to marry.
5. Kanyadanam (కన్యాదానం)
The bride’s parents formally give their daughter to the groom, symbolizing trust and blessings. This is one of the most sacred moments.
6. Panigrahanam (పాణిగ్రహణం)
The groom holds the bride’s hand, accepting her as his partner for life.
7. Jeelakarra Bellam (జీలకర్ర బెల్లం)
The couple places a paste of cumin (jeelakarra) and jaggery (bellam) on each other’s heads — symbolizing their sweet and inseparable bond.
