Nikkah (Islamic Marriage) • This is the official Islamic wedding contract. • An imam (religious officiant) will perform the nikkah by reciting a few verses from the Qur’an and guiding the couple through the marriage vows. • The bride and groom give their consent in front of witnesses, and a mahr (a symbolic gift from the groom to the bride) is agreed upon. • Once the nikkah is complete, we are officially husband and wife under Islamic law. • It’s a meaningful, spiritual moment — usually followed by duas (prayers) and heartfelt congratulations from family and friends.
