Mayur & AARTI's story
In the heart of **Dhule**, where the Panzara River flows, the air was thick with the scent of spicy **Shev-Bhaji** and the sound of festive Sanai-Choughada. Today, Sameer, a local professor, and Manasi, from Sakri, were to be wed at a bright lawn on Agra Road.
Despite the 40°C heat, the energy was electric. Sameer looked regal in his gold-bordered *Pheta*, while Manasi walked in draped in a stunning Nauvari saree. As the priest chanted the *Mangalashtaka*, the cry of "**Shubhamangal Savdhan!**" echoed, and rice grains showered the couple, sealing their bond.
The highlight was the traditional **Khandeshi feast**. Guests relished the famous **Varan-Batti**, laughing and sharing stories of old Dhule. As the sun set over the city's hills, Manasi’s tearful farewell was softened by the warmth of her new family. It was a simple yet profound celebration—much like the people of Dhule themselves: rugged on the outside, but incredibly sweet at heart.

Sangeet, Haldi, Mehandi
The **Haldi** and **Sangeet** ceremonies are the soul of a Marathi wedding, blending sacred traditions with high-energy celebration.
### Haldi (Antarpat & Halad Chadhavane)
In Marathi culture, the Haldi ceremony is often held separately for the bride and groom. A turmeric paste (Halad) is applied to the skin using mango leaves. **Suvasinis** (married women) perform the ritual to bring a natural glow and ward off evil spirits. Interestingly, the groom’s leftover paste is often sent to the bride’s house to be applied to her—a symbolic physical connection before the union.
### Sangeet (The Celebration)
While traditionally more low-key, modern Marathi Sangeets are vibrant affairs. It features a mix of traditional **Lavani** performances and Bollywood hits. Families compete in friendly dance-offs, often narrating the couple's love story through skits. It is the one night where the strict rituals of the *Brahmin* or *Maratha* traditions take a backseat to pure joy and music.

Dj / Wedding / Party
A Marathi wedding is defined by the **Antarpat** ritual, where a silk cloth separates the couple until the **Mangalashtaka** chants end. Once the cloth drops, they exchange garlands. Key moments include **Kanyadaan** and **Saptapadi** (seven steps around the fire). The bride shines in a **Nauvari saree** and traditional **Nath**, while the groom wears a **Pheta**. The day concludes with a simple yet delicious feast of **Varan-Bhaat** and **Puran Poli**, celebrating pure tradition.
