Salik & Aiman's story
Our journey began through the efforts of a marriage consultant who introduced us, and little did we know how beautifully things would unfold. From that first meeting, we discovered a connection that felt natural and comforting. What started as an arranged match quickly turned into a bond built on mutual respect, shared values, and a growing affection for one another. Every step of the way has been a delightful journey of learning, growing, and finding joy in the little things. She is a brilliant architect, while I’m a civil engineer. Together, we’re not just designing buildings but also laying the foundation for a beautiful life together! At 30, we’re excited to start this new chapter as partners in every sense of the word. With our combined passion for creating and building, we’re ready to design a future full of love, happiness, and adventure. We would love nothing more than to celebrate this special occasion with all of you—our family and friends who make life so much brighter.

The bride’s home is beautifully decorated, and she sits adorned in traditional attire while henna is applied to her hands and feet in intricate designs. Women sing wanwun (folk songs) to bless the bride, while elders perform a ceremonial henna application as a mark of good fortune. A feast of Kashmiri delicacies like rogan josh and kehwa is served, followed by lively dancing and storytelling. At the groom’s home, the atmosphere is equally festive. Though simpler, the groom’s henna application holds symbolic value, and his family celebrates with traditional songs and dances, sometimes performing the rouf. Delicious food and joyous bonding mark the evening, with gifts often exchanged between families. Both homes resonate with wanwun, laughter, and blessings, making Mehndi Raat a vibrant and emotional prelude to the wedding.
