About the hosts
Bidyapathi & Pramila's story
We met at Barefoot College, a grassroots organization in India—he was building a rural nutrition initiative, and she worked with artisans. What began as deep friendship grew into love in Bangalore. He's a product manager from Bengal, she's a product designer from Lucknow. Our intimate wedding in Kolkata blends rituals from both regions. From turmeric ceremonies filled with laughter to a lively groom’s procession and a fire-lit wedding under the stars, every moment is steeped in tradition and joy. We welcome curious hearts to witness not just a wedding, but a symphony of colour, family, food, and two worlds becoming one.
Day 1Monday, February 2, 2026Kolkata
Starting time (approximately): 9:00 AM
Venue and host contact details will be disclosed upon booking.
Aiburo Bhaat
Before blessings gather and vows are lit,
A feast is served where memories sit.
Fish and sweets on silver plates,
Aunts and cousins, teasing at fate.
The last meal of a life lived solo,
Wrapped in laughter, rice, and alpona glow.
Aashirbaad
"After aiburo bhaat and midday light,
Two traditions meet in blessings bright.
In Tilak, the bride’s kin offer grace,
Marking the groom with pride’s embrace.
In Aashirbad, elders bless the pair,
With gold, dubbo, and whispered prayer."
Songeet Sondha
"With dholer taan and thumkas bright,
Bondhu-ra bring their best tonight.
The bride’s girl gang sparkle in ghungroo’s chime,
Ma and baba join, keeping time—
A Songeet Sondha of joy and jest,
Where love, in laughter, is expressed."
Ring Ceremony
"With trembling hands and quiet grace,
We seal our bond in love’s embrace.
The rings shine bright in sacred light,
A symbol of hearts entwined just right."
Day 2Tuesday, February 3, 2026Kolkata
Starting time (approximately): 10:00 AM

Gaye Holud / Haldi
"Hands dipped in turmeric chase giggles and glow,
As the bride’s mami sings and the groom’s masi taps with care.
Veeru runs wild with a smear on her cheek, pride in her grin,
Laughter spills over steel thalis and borrowed songs.
What begins in play is rooted in prayer,
A joyous rite, old as love itself."
Bor-Jatri
"Drums beat louder than reason, as friends leap, tipsy and bold,
Steps flying, voices cracking, spirits too wild to hold.
Dida hums a mantra amid the mayhem, calm as dawn,
Mashi fixes the topor, Mamu keeps the hour from slipping.
Kaku waves them forward, Jethu quietly walks with a smile stitched in pride
as the gates draw near, the shehnai swells, draping the moment in royalty and elegance"
Biye / Shaadi
"The sacred fire bears witness, crackling, ancient and wise, to hearts shaped by Ganga and Yamuna.
Red flows through alta and chunri, a colour both root and flame.
Mantras rise in Sanskrit and Awadhi, ululations burst in Bangla joy.
Paan leaves veil the bride’s gaze, held still in a moment older than words.
One circles the fire, the other steps with paak, both moving as one.
Here, North and East do not meet - they merge, in vow, in rhythm, and in forever."
