Viren & Apurva's story
Hey there 👋, we are thrilled to see you reading this, I'm Viren (🦁groom, 25 yrs), I work as a product manager in a social media company & Apurva, my fiancé (👰🏻♀️bride to be, 25 yrs) works as a project manager in a pharma consulting company.
We met during our high school days, we were just 17 yrs old, got into a relationship a day prior to our exams (don't ask me how the exams went 🤪). I graduated in business studies and she studied pharmaceutical sciences. Later in 2020, I started a tech company & she had to go to a different city to do her masters for 2 yrs, although it was tough but we managed to make it work.
For all these yrs, we've grown up together & shared the life's lessons. We got engaged 💍 in a few months back & we're about to get married in April '24.
We would love for you to celebrate our life's milestone with us, we'll get to know you and make you a part of our culture and rituals. Who knows, maybe this experience can lead into a life long friendship! Join us ❤️

Relatives and friends of the Bride and Groom choreograph dance numbers to perform for the couple adding to the jubilation of the event.
We'll make you shake a leg and enjoy the lip smacking food that you'll never forget!

Mehndi
After you've rested from the extravagant Sangeet night, you will join us in the Mehndi ceremony held a day before the actual wedding.
A traditional aspect of the ancient Solah Shringaar, the Mehndi is an essential part of an Indian bride's wedding look. And so's the ritual around it. This ceremony is a fun-filled, nostalgic sit-down for the bride- groom, their cousins, siblings, friends, aunts and others. This is a day, filled with laughter, songs, dances and games as each sits down for a dollop of Mehndi over the hands and feet.
There's a reason why this party occurs so close to the ceremony: Tradition says the deeper the color of the bride's mehndi, the happier the couple's marriage will be. Designs also includes the partner's name hidden among the imagery. Back in the day, the couple did not know each other well before getting married, so trying to find the name helped break the ice between them. These days, it has become a fun tradition to look for the partner’s name.
Day 3Sunday, April 21, 2024Pune
Starting time (approximately): 9:00 AM
Venue and host contact details will be disclosed upon booking.
Haldi
On the main Wedding day, we'll start the morning with special wedding breakfast & Haldi ceremony. Like the sangeet and mehndi, the Haldi is a pre-wedding ritual common at traditional Indian weddings.
The Haldi ceremony is a significant prewedding event and ritual in almost every Indian regional wedding. It is celebrated on the wedding day & is usually a close-knitted event. The closest family, relatives and friends come together on this auspicious occasion to apply turmeric paste (Haldi) on the bride and groom's face and body. The occasion is celebrated with dhol (drum beats), Bollywood songs and endless dancing.
Saptapadi
Some Ritis (rituals) sound straight out of a romantic movie, but they indeed are as romantic as a Hindu wedding can get. Popularly known as ‘Saat Phere’ or Saptapadi, meaning seven steps, this ritual between the bride and the groom is what officiates the wedding ceremony as per Hindu marriage traditions.
Saptapadi means taking seven rounds around the fire by the bride and the groom. The rounds are taken around a pit of fire signifying God Agni (Fire God) and are performed in a signatory enclosed seating area called mandap. Each round or step signifies seven vows that the bride and the groom make to each other. These vows can be found in ancient Hindu scriptures and are considered the most sacred part of the entire wedding. The vows are based on a happy, respectful and harmonious married life.
This is followed by the wedding lunch which includes foods from various specialities.
Baraat
Prior to the evening's Varmala and Wedding reception, the groom's Baraat will begin late afternoon. The Baraat ceremony is a lively and spirited affair that celebrates the groom's journey to his wedding venue. The groom arrives on a beautifully decorated horse, known as Ghodi. The horse is adorned with colorful garments, garlands, and other embellishments, signifying prosperity and good fortune.
Throughout the procession, the groom's family members and friends dance in front of the procession to shower him with love, blessings, and good wishes for his future with his bride. Typically, the music is played by a brass band or DJ, creating a live and interactive atmosphere.
Upon arrival at the wedding venue, the bride's family greets the groom with a warm welcome, often showering him with flower petals and performing traditional rituals. The Baraat sets the stage for the rest of the wedding festivities, creating a joyous atmosphere filled with love, laughter, and excitement.
Varmala Ceremony, Reception & Dinner
As soon as the groom reaches the stage along with his baraat, the exchange of Varmala (garlands) will take place. Both the bride and groom put on the garland to display that they have accepted each other as life partners.
This whole ceremony is performed in the presence of priests, families, relatives, friends and guests. The Priest enchants the mantras. It is not only about exchanging the garlands, but it depicts affection between the bride and groom.
This will be followed by wedding reception where the guests meet the couple on stage to give them the blessings. This is captured by wedding photographers for the album.
Dinner will be held alongside which is the highlight of the event. It includes 20+ items, appetizers, main course, sweets and desserts.
Post dinner the bride takes bidai (says goodbye to her family) and goes along with the groom to their home.
