About the hosts
Shivam & Pinky's story
We met the old-school way, through family, and quickly agreed we were not getting married. With no plans of forever, we kept meeting anyway. Conversations turned into laughter, comfort, and a quiet realisation that this felt right. No rush, no drama, just two people choosing each other, one meeting at a time. Two years later, we got engaged. After three years of knowing, growing, and tolerating each other (mostly Pinky tolerating Shivam’s writing moods), we’re getting married. Shivam is a writer, emotional and slightly dramatic. Pinky is a corporate professional, sharp, an organised overthinker, and the reason things work. What makes us US is comfort: the freedom to be real, silly, and unfiltered without judgment. So come join us for the wedding, the music, the dancing, and a celebration full of joy. Expect great food, laughter, questionable dance moves, and zero boredom. We’re getting married and you’re invited to the fun part.

Wedding and Reception
Join us for a full-day celebration of a traditional UP wedding rich in rituals, colours, music and emotion. The day unfolds with a warm Swagat, followed by the joyful Varmala, sacred Vidhi and all key Hindu wedding rituals, including Mangalsutra, Pheras and Sindoor. Each moment is steeped in meaning and tradition. As day turns into evening, the celebration flows seamlessly into a lively Reception, filled with music, dance, and indulgent Indian cuisine. The day concludes with the emotional Vidai, a moment that beautifully captures the soul of an Indian wedding. This is a same-day, two-event celebration, grand, immersive, and unforgettable. If you’re visiting India and wish to experience the warmth, scale, and spirit of a true Big Fat Indian Wedding, this is your chance. Expect vibrant traditions, heartfelt moments, joyful chaos, and memories that will stay with you long after the music fades. Join us not just to attend a wedding, join us to experience India.
