About Us: I’m Sahil, a software developer, and Kanchan, my wonderful partner, is a civil engineer. Though our careers are different, our passion for growth and commitment to building a future together unites us. We’re excited to continue this journey, supporting each other every step of the way. Invitation to Our Wedding: As we begin this new chapter of our lives, we would love for you to join us in celebrating the start of our forever. Pheras(Saptapadi)
The Pheras (Saptapadi) are the most significant part of a Maharashtrian wedding, where the bride and groom circle the sacred fire seven times. With each round, they make a vow to each other, promising love, loyalty, prosperity, and support through life's challenges. The fire acts as a divine witness, symbolizing purity and the presence of gods. These vows deepen their commitment to each other in various aspects of life—spiritual, emotional, and practical. Once the seven rounds are completed, the couple is officially married, marking the start of their lifelong journey together.
Baraat
The Baraat is a lively and vibrant procession that marks the groom's arrival at the bride's wedding venue, usually before the **Varmala** ceremony. Accompanied by his family, friends, and sometimes musicians, the groom arrives, often riding a decorated horse or in a grand vehicle. The procession is filled with excitement, music, dancing, and celebratory songs, creating an atmosphere of joy and anticipation. The **Baraat** symbolizes the groom’s journey to claim his bride and marks the beginning of the wedding celebrations. Once the groom arrives, the **Varmala** ceremony follows, where the bride and groom exchange garlands. The **Baraat** not only signifies the start of the wedding rituals but also represents the coming together of two families in celebration of the couple’s union.
Varmala
The Varmala (or Jaimala) is a beautiful and symbolic ritual in Indian weddings where the bride and groom exchange floral garlands, marking the start of their marriage ceremony. This moment represents their mutual acceptance, commitment, and love for each other. The garlands, often made of fresh flowers, symbolize the blending of two families and the beginning of a lifelong journey together. The ritual is filled with joy, music, and laughter, setting the tone for the wedding celebrations and honoring the sacred bond of marriage.
