Happy Tilakutsav तिलकोत्सव
Tilkotsav (Happy Tilkotsav) is a significant and joyous part of Indian weddings. It is celebrated to strengthen the bond between the families of the bride and groom and to enhance mutual respect and understanding. The Tilkotsav ceremony primarily involves the groom's family visiting the bride's house to perform the "Tilk" ritual. The groom’s family applies the tilak (which includes sindoor, turmeric, conch, flowers, bangles, etc.) on the bride, symbolizing blessings and respect from the groom's side.
On this day, a small puja is performed, and after that, the bride receives gifts and blessings from the groom’s family. This event typically occurs before the wedding and signifies a harmonious and loving connection between both families.
The celebration includes music and dance, which adds to the lively and festive atmosphere. It is a day filled with happiness and excitement, where both families come together to share love, blessings, and good wishes for the future.

Motimangalya
Motimangalya is a traditional pre-wedding ceremony celebrated with great enthusiasm in certain Indian communities, especially among Maithil and some other regional cultures. This ceremony holds deep cultural and emotional significance, symbolizing the beginning of the wedding rituals and the formal announcement of the marriage alliance.
In Motimangalya, the families of the bride and groom come together to exchange gifts, sweets, clothes, and symbolic items like rice, betel nuts, and turmeric. These items represent prosperity, purity, and blessings for the couple's future. A sacred ritual is performed by the family priests, who read out the lagna-patra (wedding invitation with astrological details), confirming the agreed wedding date and time.
It is a joyful event, often accompanied by folk songs, traditional music, and dancing. Elders of both families bless the bride and groom for a happy married life.

Haldi program
Haldi Program is one of the most joyful and vibrant pre-wedding rituals in Indian weddings. It involves applying a paste made of turmeric (haldi), sandalwood, rose water, and sometimes curd on the bride and groom’s face, hands, and feet
Family members, relatives, and friends apply haldi to the bride or groom while singing traditional songs, dancing, and celebrating. Haldi is believed to purify the body, ward off evil, and bring a natural glow to the skin before the wedding. Yellow, being the color of happiness and prosperity, adds to the cheerful vibe of the ceremony.
Shaadi function
Shaadi: 5 June
Shaadi Function is the most important and sacred part of an Indian wedding. It is held under a decorated mandap, where the bride and groom take seven pheras around the holy fire, each representing vows of love, respect, and lifelong partnership. A priest performs Vedic rituals and chants mantras during the ceremony.
The groom ties the mangalsutra around the bride’s neck and applies sindoor on her forehead, marking her as married. The couple also exchanges garlands (varmala), symbolizing acceptance of each other.
Family members bless the couple, and the event is filled with music, emotions, and traditional customs. Everyone dresses in festive attire, and the atmosphere is vibrant and joyful. The shaadi function is not just a legal or social bond but a spiritual union of two souls, celebrated with great happiness, cultural richness, and love.
