About the hosts
Akshara & Sahana's story
We are Akshara and Sahana, from the scenic Western Ghats of Karnataka. Our story began in 2020 when Sahana visited my home with her Bharatanatyam dance troupe. Soon after, I left for Germany to pursue my master’s degree, and life took us on different paths. Four years later, in early 2024, a simple chat on Instagram brought us back together — perhaps destiny’s gentle reminder. Coincidentally, her parents were searching for a match and reached out to mine, not realizing it was me! When we met again in Bangalore that August, everything felt natural. A week later, Sahana confessed she liked me — and that’s how our journey began. For us, it’s a love marriage; for our families, it beautifully feels arranged. We’ve shared a year of laughter, travel, cooking, and countless memories. She’s lively and warm, I’m calm and caring — together, we’re perfectly balanced. Join us on 23rd November 2025 in Sirsi for our traditional Havyaka Brahmin wedding, where love meets culture and hearts unite.

Wedding Day
Our wedding is a traditional Havyaka Brahmin celebration filled with culture, color, and heartfelt rituals. The festivities begin a day earlier with the Naandi ceremony, marking an auspicious start. You’ll witness the playful Kashi Yatre, where the groom pretends to renounce worldly life before being brought back by the bride’s brother— a joyful and symbolic ritual loved by all. On the wedding day, sacred chants, music, and decorations fill the air. The main Muhurtha ceremony takes place as we exchange garlands and tie the holy Mangalsutra, symbolizing our union. Guests can savor authentic Havyaka cuisine — coconut-based curries, rice, pickles, and sweets and much more! — while soaking in the warmth of family traditions. Expect laughter, rituals, and the vibrant spirit of the Western Ghats — a true celebration of love, culture, and togetherness.
