Dev dwala + Barat
The next morning, all the women gather dressed in new sarees and head to the village temples. With the sound of traditional drums, they perform prayers to the local deities, seeking blessings for the couple.
After returning home, the Haldi ritual continues with family members applying turmeric paste to the bride and groom once again. Playfully, they also smear Haldi on each other, much like the Holi festival. Afterwards, everyone shares a hearty meal together.
Throughout the day, various customs and rituals are observed. By evening, the bride and groom prepare for the main wedding ceremony. The groom’s baraat sets out around 7 PM, with music and celebration filling the air.
Following the baraat, traditional wedding rituals are performed throughout the night. Finally, the groom brings the bride to his home, fulfilling all customary rites, marking the beginning of their married life together.
Vidai + Bride Welcome
The next morning, after all the rituals are completed, the bride’s bidaai (farewell) takes place. It is an emotional moment when the bride departs from her parental home.
Soon after, the groom is warmly welcomed at his home right there in the village. Guests have the unique opportunity to witness both the bride’s farewell and the groom’s welcome ceremonies at the same place.
You will also get to see the special rituals performed together by the bride and groom, making this an unforgettable part of the wedding celebration.
